I have worked with Doc Martens shoes, Michelle Roy accessories, Truly Organic Apparel, and small independent designers and fashion-related companies. Here are some examples of my past work in the industry.

I was formerly a guest blogger at Nolcha.com, a blog dedicated to bringing business to the forefront of the emerging fashion market.

Hello Giannina,
I stumbled across your “blog?” and just wanted to say “thank you!”….if for no other reason than the fact that you’ve included somewhat difficult to locate information links on the right hand side of your webpage. LOL…
I opened a women’s clothing boutique, online only, out of my house this year and have been on a crazy, stressful, exhilarating ride ever since.
I’m registering to attend MAGIC, as we speak, but have had difficulties figuring out how Pool and Project fit into the picture….where they are, how to get info, and so on and so forth. Thanks to you, I have their website links and can now transfer that little bit of stress to something else entirely!
Ahhh…it’s great, though. I’m having so much fun.
I know that your insights are geared more for fashion designers and labels, but I have to say that much of the insight and info that you’re imparting is helpful to me, the retailer, too.
Thanks a bunch, take it easy and take care!!

Hi Giannina! I love your blog, and I’d like to see if we can establish a relationship. Our focuses are complementary, I think.
Please take a look at my site and see if we can link each other.
Best,

Hello,
First of all, thank you so much for providing all of this useful information. It is so helpful and very applicable.
I am one half of the CLOAK Apparel Inc. creative team. CLOAK is a new fashion brand with a cause. We are using our passion for fashion and design to become a vast resource for charities and missions groups aorund the world. We are focusing on producing designer tees and scarves for the moment and have already launched a collection titled, “Positivity Moves.” Positivity Moves is a designer t-shirt with a large + symbol on it that represents posivity. The profits from that collection will be donated to help the food crisis and recent hurrican devastation in the nation of Haiti.
We currenly do all of our selling online. Because we’re a small start-up, we don’t have a large budget to attend trade shows where we could get get large quantity orders. Most of our budget has been spent on producing the shirts at sample quantities. We’ve been selling the shirts piece by piece on our website. We obviously can’t continue to do business that way if we plan to reach our business objectives. Our #1 problem is a lack of knowledge as to how the business works. We KNOW we have a great product and we’ve have tons of designs just waiting to get produced. We’ve worked hard on our presentation, look book, line sheet and overall brand ID.
So, the BIG questions are…
How do we get our product in front of buyers?
Who should we be sending our look book to?
Is there a directory with contact info available?
PLEASE HELP!!!
Hi Giannina,
I was wondering if you ever covered the topic of how to approach the buyer at a boutique? I have a new product (it falls under the Food & Beverage category I guess) and I am just now starting to work on getting the product into stores. I would love to know if there is a protocol on how to go about doing this – without going to a trade/gift show.
Any advice? Or any suggestions of articles/blogs/posts that address this question?
Thanks for your time. I love the blog and can’t wait to read more of it!!
Hi Shannon,
Thanks for your question! I will respond shortly…
Good luck and thanks for reading!
